Martha Lane Fox wants you all online. Now!

October 3, 2010

Martha Lane Fox was appointed by Gordon Brown as the UK Digital Champion, and has founded the RaceOnline2012 campaign to get all people of working age on the Internet (10 million of us Brits haven’t used the Net, but to do so would help us a lot).

Lane Fox says that getting the ‘unconnected’ online will help them avoid feeling isolated, and can aid in all sorts of daily tasks like bill-paying and shopping. There’s millions of us already enjoying the bargains of eBay and Amazon, so the thinking goes that extending this to more people must be a good thing.

Read an introduction to the problem by the woman herself on the Guardian, head on over to www.raceonline2012.org for all the information, or download their manifesto (PDF) for more details.
